RTctrl Lighting
Control App

One app. Every light. macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The RTctrl App gives you manufacturer-independent control of Aputure, ARRI, Nanlux, Creamsource, and Godox fixtures via ArtNet, sACN, Bluetooth LE, and CRMX — with a built-in DMX profile library that maps every channel automatically.

Features

Control Any Light, Any Protocol, Any Platform

The RTctrl App replaces manufacturer-specific apps with a single, unified interface that speaks ArtNet, sACN, Bluetooth LE, CRMX, and wired DMX — and knows every fixture in the library by name.

Manufacturer-Independent Control

The RTctrl App doesn't lock you into a single fixture brand. With a built-in DMX profile library covering Aputure, ARRI, Nanlux, Creamsource, Godox, and dozens more, you get intelligent control of every light on set — regardless of manufacturer. Select a fixture, and the app maps its channels automatically: intensity, color temperature, HSI, effects, and fan speed.

ArtNet & sACN Output

Transmit ArtNet or sACN (E1.31) over your local network or directly over USB-C to a connected RTctrl 1U transmitter. The app acts as a full ArtNet node, meaning it integrates cleanly into existing lighting infrastructure — merge with a console, route to a gateway, or drive fixtures directly.

Full RDM Fixture Discovery

Remote Device Management (RDM) lets you discover every fixture in your rig, read its current DMX address and mode, and change settings remotely — no ladder, no line-of-sight required. The RTctrl App displays a live inventory of RDM-capable fixtures and gives you push-button control over addressing and configuration.

Multi-Universe Support

Control multiple DMX universes simultaneously from a single device. Large-scale lighting rigs for broadcast studios, live events, and multi-zone film sets are fully supported. Each universe is independently configurable with its own protocol output, merge mode, and priority.

Bluetooth LE Direct Control

For smaller setups where wireless DMX infrastructure isn't needed, the RTctrl App can control Bluetooth LE-enabled fixtures directly from your phone or tablet. Ideal for quick one-light interviews, product shoots, or any time you need instant control without additional hardware.

macOS · Windows · iOS · Android

The RTctrl App runs natively on all four major platforms — macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The interface adapts from phone to tablet to desktop, with full mouse/keyboard support on desktop and precision touch faders on mobile. One license, every device.

Cross-Platform

Runs Where You Work

Unlike competitor apps locked to a single OS, the RTctrl App is natively built for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android — with full feature parity and a UI that adapts to your screen.

macOS

Native macOS app with full keyboard & trackpad support, menu bar integration, and Retina display optimization.

Windows

Windows 10/11 app with touch screen support, multi-monitor layouts, and direct ArtNet output over Ethernet.

iOS

iPhone and iPad app with haptic fader feedback, Split View multitasking, and USB-C direct output to RTctrl 1U.

Android

Android phone and tablet app with full feature parity, USB OTG support, and Google Play distribution.

DMX Profile Library

Every Fixture, Named and Mapped

The built-in DMX profile library transforms raw DMX channels into named, intuitive controls. Select your fixture — Aputure LS 1200d, ARRI SkyPanel S60, Nanlux Evoke 2400B, Creamsource Vortex, or Godox Knowled M600Bi — and the app automatically maps:

  • Intensity (dimmer curves, 8-bit and 16-bit)
  • Color temperature (CCT with fine adjustment)
  • HSI color mixing (hue, saturation, intensity)
  • Built-in effects (strobe, lightning, fire, pulse)
  • Fan control and special functions
  • Multi-channel modes (extended, basic, RGBW)

New profiles are added with every update. Can't find yours? Request it — we build and ship profiles within days.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I control my Aputure lights from my Windows PC?
Yes. The RTctrl App runs natively on Windows 10 and 11. Load the Aputure DMX profile from the built-in library, connect to RTctrl 1U via USB-C, and control your Aputure LS 600d, LS 1200d, MC, or any other Aputure fixture wirelessly over CRMX — or over ArtNet on your local network.
Does the app support RDM fixture discovery?
Yes. When connected to an RDM-capable output (such as the RTctrl 1U or any ArtNet gateway with RDM support), the app can discover all RDM fixtures in your rig, display their addresses, sensor data, and mode settings, and let you change them remotely without physically accessing the fixture.
Do I need the RTctrl 1U hardware to use the app?
No. The RTctrl App works standalone over ArtNet, sACN, and Bluetooth LE with any compatible gateway or fixture. The RTctrl 1U adds CRMX wireless DMX via USB-C, but the app is fully functional on its own with network-based or Bluetooth outputs.
Which fixture brands are in the DMX profile library?
The library includes pre-built profiles for Aputure, ARRI, Nanlux, Creamsource, Godox, Astera, Quasar Science, Litepanels, and many more. Profiles map all fixture channels — intensity, CCT, HSI, effects, fan, and special functions — so you see named controls instead of raw DMX values. New profiles are added with every update.
Can I use the app with my existing grandMA, ETC Eos, or other console?
Yes. The RTctrl App can merge its ArtNet output with your lighting console using standard HTP or LTP merge. This lets you use the app as a wireless folllow-spot controller, a quick override tool, or a secondary programming surface alongside your main desk.
Is there a subscription or recurring fee?
No. The RTctrl App is a one-time purchase with free updates. No subscriptions, no cloud accounts, no feature gates.
